Obituary
Roger Harold Nece, 85, of 28 Piney Lane,
Leasburg, died Thursday, February 18,
2010, at Halifax Regional Hospital in South
Boston. Born in Cuyahoga County, OH, Mr.
Nece was the son of the late Harry Henry
and Ida May Mellinger Nece. Mr. Nece
served in the US Navy during WWII. He later
graduated from Fenn College in Cleveland,
OH with a mechanical engineering degree.
A resident of Person County since 1975, he
retired from Eaton Corporation in
September 1987. Mr. Nece was a member
of Concord United Methodist Church. He
was very active in the Boy Scouts of
America, serving as an adult leader for 45
years. He was preceded in death by his
wife, Florence Eadie Nece.

Mr. Nece is survived by his Daughter,
Patricia May Nece of Alexandria, VA; his
Son, Robert Andrew Nece of Cleveland,
OH, his grandchildren, Victoria Marie Nece
and John Stuart Nece; his brother-in-law
and sister-in-law, Elanor and Oren Powell,
of Westlake, OH.

Funeral services will be held 11:00AM,
Monday at Concord United Methodist
Church by the Rev. Karl Neuschaefer.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM,
Sunday at Concord United Methodist
Church.

Pallbearers will be Cleve Wagstaff, Bayard
Crumpton, David Bell, Donald Wilson, Tony
Bowes, Neal Bowes, Ted Williams, and
Gerald Hager.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made
to BSA Troop 239 Concord UMC, c/o Curtis
Oliver, 16393 N NC Hwy 119, Semora, NC,
27343.  
Per  Family request , Scouts are
encouraged to wear uniforms to the
viewing and/or funeral.
